Make quick chicken quesadillas. Shred half the chicken, warm a tortilla in a pan, add chicken and cheese, and let it get melty. That’s dinner.

Optional upgrade: Mix salsa with a spoonful of sour cream to make an fast dipping sauce.

Make your future self happy: Shred the whole chicken and turn the rest into chicken fried rice tomorrow. Frozen veggies, microwave rice, soy sauce, egg. Done in ten minutes.


I have ground beef or ground turkey

Make a super simple pasta night. Brown the beef, add jarred marinara, and spoon it over tortellini or any pasta. Easy, peasy.

Optional upgrade: Add a spoonful of pesto or cream cheese to the sauce if you have it.

Make your future self happy: Cook an extra pound today and burger bowls become a reheat situation later in the week. Just add your favorite burger toppings and a side of fries.


I have a can or two of beans

Make a zero-effort burrito bowl. Warm black or pinto beans + microwave rice + salsa + cheese. Add lettuce, sour cream, or guac if you have it. It’s fast and filling.

I have nothing thawed & no energy

Breakfast-for-dinner is an easy win. Just scrambled eggs, toast, and fruit. Add a side of bacon or sausage if you have it. This is our family's go-to fallback dinner, and it always comes through.

Optional upgrade: Make an “egg sandwich” instead of plated breakfast.
